Luvcat’s second single is a memorable murder ballad called ‘He’s My Man’. It’s a tender, haunting track that allows Luvcat’s memorable sit above gentle acoustic guitar during its verses, before expanding outwards into the almost creepy, cinematic chorus. Lyrically, the track is centred on a bored housewife slowly poisoning her husband with arsenic. She elaborates: “I guess the crux of the song is about how love often goes hand in hand with obsession. It wasn’t supposed to be the second single but a video of us playing the song drunkenly one night in Soho went mad online so we had to rush a recording out with a twisted music video to match.” Keep an eye out for more from Luvcat over the course of 2024. -Dan Peeke
